ACS International School Hillingdon is recruiting two General Assistants to join the catering team. We are seeking an experienced assistant with a good sense of customer service values and people skills, to build on what is already a fantastic team.
This is a varied role encompassing many different tasks. Food preparation and customer service duties are a key part of this role.
About ACS Catering:
We offer a diverse and varied menu using the freshest ingredients available to us, over 90% of our food is prepared and cooked in house with all the latest trends, and as an independent school we are fortunate to have the funds for top quality equipment and produce.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- To adhere to and actively work within the school’s policies and guidelines of the HACCP policy and Health and Safety legislation
- To have a joint responsibility in preparing the food court for service
- To operate tills points during this service and deal with customer queries
- To set up, serve and clean down service areas after the school service, liaising with the Duty Chef and lunch supervisors
- Operate kitchen equipment as part of the daily cleaning tasks
- Advise managers or chefs of any ordering requirements in a timely manner
- Perform any other duties requested by the Catering Manager or Sous Chef.
Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years experience in school catering is preferred and highly desirable
- Good communication skills
- Sufficient numeracy skills to operate tills
- Literacy skills to understand and complete online training and fill out HACCP daily checklists
- A passion for food and great customer service is essential
- Experience in a similar food service job is preferred although training will be provided
- Ability to work in line with ACS’ values.
Working hours:
- Permanent, term time only role working Monday – Friday, 5.5 hours per day (42 weeks)
- 09:00 – 14:45, including some occasional evening
- Based at ACS Hillingdon, UB10 OBE
