Through Furnace we deliver a wide range of artistic development, supporting and nurturing locally rooted artists and developing vital new work for our stages. We are now recruiting for a Furnace Producer to sit at the heart of this programme.

The Furnace Producer will be responsible for leading the artist development work of Leeds Playhouse. ​

The work you enable to happen will respond to the Leeds Playhouse mission and programme, the priorities of our key partners and the emerging needs of the city, and the artists and creatives who make work here. ​

You will:​

  • Lead on artist development programmes including brand new schemes for writers, directors, masterclasses with artists from all disciplines and actors’ programmes.​
  • Nurture a community of creatives through regular meet ups, use of resources and sharing information, in particular co-ordinating brews, artist hangs, desk space and newsletters. ​
  • In collaboration with the Programming team, programme local work into the Bramall Rock Void.​

We are seeking a creative and collaborative producer, who is rigorous in their planning and delivery, bold in their programming and centres care. You will be a connector, linking artists to Leeds Playhouse and each other, supporting participants on other programmes to find pathways into professional practise and finding opportunities to create connections across the region and nationally.

This is a part-time, permanent contract of 28 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work will be required due to the nature of the role, working pattern is to be established in discussion with your manager. Pay for this role is £25,600 per year based on part-time hours (full-time equivalent of £32,000 per year).
