Food and Beverage Assistant Manager (1817)

Do you thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment and enjoy creating exceptional visitor experiences? Can you lead, support and develop teams to deliver consistently high standards across a varied food and beverage operation?

We are looking for an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager to support the delivery of outstanding hospitality experiences across the Royal Shakespeare Company's diverse food and beverage venues. From our cafés and Theatre Bars to the Rooftop Restaurant, Green Room, terraces, and event spaces, you'll play a key role in ensuring our audiences, visitors, artists and stakeholders receive a warm, professional and memorable experience.

Reporting to the Food and Beverage Manager, key areas of responsibility include: 

  • Leading the day-to-day operation of the Rooftop Restaurant, as well as providing support across cafés, bars, terraces and event spaces.
  • Coaching and developing team members to deliver high-quality hospitality experiences.
  • Delivering engaging daily briefings to ensure teams are prepared and informed for service.
  • Creating welcoming, inclusive and professional experiences for all visitors and stakeholders.
  • Maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and service.
  • Monitoring stock control, deliveries, merchandising, and minimising wastage.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety, allergen, licensing, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Working collaboratively with kitchen, Front of House, Events, and wider teams to deliver seamless operations and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience supervising or supporting teams within hospitality or food and beverage operations.
  • Confidence working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food safety, allergen awareness, and licensing requirements.
  • A positive, adaptable and professional approach to work.

This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Stratford-upon-Avon. Working 40 hours per week (including some evenings and weekends), 5 days out of 7 with 2 days off per week.
