Overall:

We provide an efficient service for families affected by domestic violence and abuse across Kent & Medway. These families and individuals will have a range of needs, and our client support work is needs-led, risk-focused & trauma-informed with a focus on developing individual resilience. We work with clients in a range of settings. We provide group work and all support colleagues are expected to be capable of integrated working in the wider social system.

Colleagues are expected to work flexibly as needed by service demands, this includes evenings and weekends. Where necessary colleagues are also expected to participate in the out-of-hours service, providing an on-call system for the refuge service users (for which enhancements are paid)

Purpose of the role:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance Administrator to join our growing team. This role plays a key part in supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance function, while also acting as a professional first point of contact for service users, customers and suppliers. The successful candidate will assist with a wide range of finance and administrative activities, helping to ensure records are maintained accurately, processes run efficiently, and a high standard of service is delivered at all times. You will have an understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and computerised finance systems, be confident using Microsoft Office applications, and possess excellent organisational skills.

Finance Administrator – Kent – Working From Home (WFH)

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and reconcile purchase invoices and supplier statements.

• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable administration.

Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

• Support month-end processes and reporting activities.

• Raise sales invoices and monitor outstanding payments where required.

• Assist with banking administration, including processing payments and reconciling transactions.

• Maintain finance systems and databases, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.

• Support audits and compliance activities by providing documentation and information as required.

• Monitor shared finance inboxes and respond to queries in a timely and professional manner.

• Ensure all financial processes are followed in line with company policies and procedure.

• Support the day-to-day activities of the finance team, ensuring administrative processes are completed efficiently and in a timely manner.

• Provide flexible support across the finance function by undertaking ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

• Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, external stakeholders and senior colleagues.

• Ensure the integrity, accuracy and security of financial and business information.
