Volunteers wanted for the 2026 Sci-Fi London Film Festival

Sci-Fi-London is back once more with an exciting and renovated edition between May 13 and 17 at Rich Mix, Shoreditch.

Volunteers will be working as part of a team to ensure that the festival is a success before, during, and after the event.

They will hold a pre-festival virtual/online meeting to cover health and safety regulations at the venue, outlining roles, requirements, and procedures, and take the opportunity to meet and greet the team of volunteers for each year’s festival. Then they discuss shift availability and begin to draw up a rota for the festival. If you would like to volunteer for the festival, Sci-Fi-London ask you to commit to at least two shifts (about 4 hours per shift).

If you have a passion for science fiction and want to be a part of an amazing event, then Sci-Fi-London want you on the team! They help with a variety of tasks, including:

• Taking care of the registration desk and guest list tickets
• Ushering and crowd control
• Set-up and tear-down of the festival space
• Guest relations and hospitality
• Marketing and social media promotion
• Assisting at parties and networking events.

Sci-Fi-London will also need some extra hands to help dress the venue the days prior to the festival, so any artistic/design hands are more than welcome. Please outline your interest and availability for this in the application, and mention whether you have specific skills or would like a specific role during the festival.

• As a volunteer, you will be issued a Sci-Fi-London limited edition T-shirt to wear during your shift.
• Snacks will be provided while on shift.
• We will also cover reasonable travel expenses. Please do get in touch with us as well if you would like to discuss this.
• Access to watch the films/attend the events when not on duty and access to the online programme.
• The opportunity of meeting really nice, open-minded people with creative and similar interests.
