Essential Requirements:

Qualification or equivalent to NVQ level 4 or equivalent work level experience

Experience supporting women, men and children who have been subject to domestic violence and abuse on 1:1 or group work basis

Experience of Sanctuary Schemes or Target Hardening

Experience and knowledge of safeguarding adults and children
The Role:
As a Sanctuary and Target Hardening Worker, you ill coordinate the delivery of Sanctuary and Target Hardening security measures for individuals who have experienced domestic abuse, helping them to remain safe and secure within their own homes. Working as part of the Integrated Domestic Abuse Team, you will carry out property assessments to identify security risks and appropriate enhancements, arrange for approved contractors to undertake necessary works, and monitor the quality and completion of installations to ensure they meet agreed specifications, standards, and the needs of the individual. You will work closely with partner agencies, contractors, and service users to provide a responsive, person-centred service that promotes safety and reduces the risk of further harm.
About You:

You will work within the Integrated Domestic Abuse Team to deliver the contractual requirements of the Sanctuary and Target Hardening service.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues, clients, and partner agencies to identify individuals who would benefit from additional security measures to help them remain safe in their own homes.

You will co-produce comprehensive risk assessments with clients, ensuring their individual needs, circumstances, and experiences are reflected in all safety and support plans.

You will carry out property assessments, undertake safety planning, and consider risks both within and external to the property as part of the full Sanctuary provision.

You will manage your workload and diary effectively, ensuring services are delivered in a timely, responsive, and person-centred manner that meets the needs of each individual.

You will advocate on behalf of clients in a professional, respectful, and empowering way, encouraging them to have their own voice, make informed choices, and build confidence and resilience.

You will work closely with clients, colleagues, contractors, and partner agencies to develop and coordinate tailored Sanctuary and Target Hardening measures, informed by comprehensive risk assessments and designed to enhance safety and reduce the risk of further harm.
