Main Purpose of the Role:

To provide high‑quality, person‑centred support to female individuals, supporting them with a range of needs, including mental health challenges, learning disabilities, substance misuse, or social exclusion, enabling individuals to achieve positive outcomes. The post holder will support women to develop safe, stable relationships and the skills, confidence, and independence needed to lead fulfilling lives. The role focuses on empowering individuals to work towards their personal goals, aspirations and promoting wellbeing.

The Support Worker will build positive, professional relationships with individuals, offering practical and emotional support both within the home settling and by working alongside individuals in the charity’s social enterprises. Through this approach, the role will support people learning, personal development, employability skills, and meaningful engagement, helping individuals to gain experience, build confidence, and progress towards greater independence.

We are looking for female applicants only for this role as it is primarily supporting our women’s project. The Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1 applies to this post.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Work alongside individuals in the charity’s social enterprises
  • Oversight of the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework of the Women’s Project
  • Develop the companion move-on journey, working in partnership with the Support Services Manager to ensure a well-supported transition from the community and beyond
  • Work alongside volunteers to assist in supporting individuals to maximise their potential and learning with guidance from the Retail Manager
  • Coordinate all female companion support and development as well as working with Therapeutic Leads to provide wellbeing interventions for the whole community
  • Acting as key worker for up to 20 female individuals
  • Manage quarterly development meetings, collaborating with team members, ensure timely communication via email trail when joint efforts are required in supporting individuals to achieve their goals and aspirations
