Our vision is for the UK to be the best place in the world for people with a learning disability to live happy, healthy lives.
We’re here to support people with a learning disability, their families and their carers. We also campaign for a kinder, fairer and more inclusive society, where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity and respect.
At Mencap, everyone plays a role. Whether you’re providing support, offering advice, or working alongside colleagues, we all work together with people with a learning disability at the heart of everything we do.

- We believe in learning and growing every day — it’s okay to make mistakes, as long as we learn from them and make positive changes
- Everywhere, people should feel respected, valued, and safe to be themselves
To support this, we have Belonging Network Groups that meet online and are open to all colleagues. These include groups for people who identify as Black and Asian, LGBTQIA+, disabled or living with a long-term health condition, women, parents and carers, as well as allies.
