At Jewish Care, we support people to live independently, with dignity and connection at the heart of everything we do. Our Retirement Living services offer a vibrant, supportive community where tenants can enjoy their independence, knowing care and support are there when needed.

About the role

This isn’t a typical care role.

As a Night Care & Support Worker, you’ll support tenants living in their own flats—helping them stay independent, connected, and in control of their lives. From practical support to companionship, you’ll build meaningful relationships and play a key role in creating a strong community.

This post is working 30 hrs per week position with the following shift pattern:

  • Week 1: working on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9 PM-7 AM
  • Week 2: working on Friday, Saturday, Sunday 9 PM-7 AM

There is a genuine occupational reason under the sex discrimination act 1974 that the post holder must be female.

The role involves supporting our tenants (males and females) throughout the night, ensuring their safety, comfort, dignity, and wellbeing. Duties may include personal care, administering medication, responding to call bells, carrying out welfare checks, maintaining accurate records, and helping create a calm and reassuring environment overnight.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting tenants with personal care and daily living
  • Promoting independence, choice, and dignity
  • Building trusted relationships with tenants and their families
  • Supporting wellbeing through social activities and community engagement
  • Working with health and social care professionals to provide joined-up support
  • Keeping accurate records and using care planning systems

What we’re looking for

  • Caring, compassionate, and respectful
  • A great communicator who enjoys building relationships
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable supporting people with different needs, including dementia
  • Willing to learn and develop

Experience in care is helpful but not essential—we provide full training.

What makes this role different

  • You’ll support people in their own homes, not a care home setting
  • A strong focus on independence and choice
  • A real sense of community and connection
  • Opportunities to build long-term, meaningful relationships

What you’ll get in return

  • Full training and ongoing development
  • A supportive, friendly team
  • Opportunities to progress within health and social care
  • A role where you can make a genuine difference every day
