Families and Youth Worker – Trinity Church Manchester

Organisation

Our Vision

We want to become a gospel community for North Manchester that reaches, grows and partners for God’s glory

Church Overview

Trinity Church is a growing FIEC church in Greater Manchester. Planted in 2020, the church has grown to approximately 130 adults and 40 kids. Families make up a large part of the church, with an ever-growing number of children and young people attending on Sundays and throughout the week.

Over the past few years, the church has celebrated multiple baptisms and launched various ministries to reach and serve the surrounding areas. We are committed to church planting across Greater Manchester, are one of the founding members of the Northern Gospel Project and have links with City to City Europe. Our 5-year goals are:

1. Fill the Room

Grow to 300+ adults attending the church, with 10% of our growth coming through new conversions to faith.

2. Open the Doors

We want to lease or own a venue which we can use throughout the week for an expanded portfolio of ministries.

3. Love our Neighbours

We want to expand our ministry offering, launching new mid-week ministries that connect with and serve the communities of North Manchester.

4. Invest in the Future

We want to grow our investment in the next generation year-on-year. This will include prioritising the development of our families ministry and our internship programme. We want to train and send out a minimum of 10 interns across the next 5 years.

5. Plant New Churches

We want to plant a new church in Greater Manchester to help reach new people with the gospel. We also want to partner with 2 other church plants, helping to resource 1 in the UK and 1 in continental Europe.

Role Summary

The gospel is for everyone, and that includes children and young people. Jesus loved and welcomed children just as he loved and welcomed adults (Matt. 19:14) and the Bible is clear that God’s people have a responsibility to raise children to love and follow Him (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:1).

Our Families Ministry exists to help families in Trinity Church and across North Manchester follow Jesus. We do that, we want to:

  • create a safe, fun environment for children and young people to come to know Jesus and learn what it means to follow Him
  • communicate the Bible in a way that engages young people and speaks to their minds and their hearts
  • support and equip parents in our church in their role as the primary discipleship makers for their kids
  • increase our outreach to children and young people in North Manchester in order that more families come to know Jesus themselves.

The Families and Youth Worker will be responsible for leading and growing the children’s and youth teams at Trinity Church in order to fulfil this vision. We are strongly committed to team ministry and therefore expect the Team Leader to recruit, train, develop and empower others to serve alongside them.

The successful candidate will be a mature Christian whose life meets the qualifications of a deacon laid out in 1 Timothy 3:8-13. They must possess the necessary abilities and leadership skills to perform the role, having experience of working with children, youth and families and also building and leading teams. There must also be full alignment with the vision and values of Trinity Church.
