Position Energy Advice Mentor (Home Energy Scotland)

Location Flexible working – primarily home-based with the option to work from local hubs, alongside regular travel across Strathclyde & Central to deliver face-to-face support.

Salary £24,479 + excellent benefits

Hours 35 hours per week (flexible working)

Status Fixed Term until 31st March 2027

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Home Energy Scotland (HES) team as an Energy Mentor.

As an Energy Mentor, you will work alongside customers to navigate the real challenges they face around energy, income and household stability. This is not just advice-giving. It’s about building a trusted relationship, understanding the full picture of someone’s situation, and supporting them to take practical steps forward.

You will primarily provide support over the telephone, and also via email, and face-to-face at events, using our Relational Mentoring approach to help customers move towards more stable and sustainable outcomes.

Candidate information

We’re looking for someone who can build trust quickly, communicate clearly, and stay alongside people when things are complex.

You’ll bring:

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· A customer-focused mindset grounded in empathy and realism

· Experience working in a customer-facing or support environment

· The ability to listen, understand, and respond to a range of interconnected needs
