Are you passionate about making a real difference in children’s lives?
At Shaftesbury Thrive, we’re looking for caring, enthusiastic Part-Time Enabling Support Workers to join our growing team and help children with disabilities enjoy meaningful short breaks within their communities.
Please note: this role does not meet Home Office salary requirements for visa sponsorship.
🕒 Hours & Working Pattern
- 20 hours per week, to be worked Monday to Sunday, including alternating weekends.
💙 About the Service
Our service provides community-based short break support for children with disabilities. You’ll work closely with families, supporting children and young people in their own homes and local communities, helping them to build confidence, independence and have fun.
You’ll be part of a supportive team, working alongside our Service Delivery Lead and Team Leader.
✨ What You’ll Be Doing
Every day is different, but your role may include:
- Supporting daily routines such as meal times, personal care and bedtimes
- Helping children enjoy community activities– cinema trips, youth clubs, sports, swimming, parks or days at the beach
- Assisting parents and carers with light household tasks, including meal preparation, laundry and general cleaning
- Planning and taking part in fun activitiessuch as arts and crafts, reading, games and play
- Supporting children and young people to learn new skills and build independence, for example:
- Using public transport
- Planning shopping trips
- Managing money
👋 Who We’re Looking For
You might already have experience as a:
- Support Worker
- Childcare Worker
- Teaching Assistant
- Or working with children with disabilities or special educational needs
If so, we’d love to hear from you.

- Loves working with children and families
- Enjoys being activeand working in different environments
- Is fun, friendly and warm
- Is keen to learn, develop and progressin their career
- Is truly passionate about improving the livesof children and young people with disabilities
