The Vacancy
Are you a qualified electrician looking for a role where you can take pride in your work and make a real difference? Great! We're expanding our Electrical team and have an exciting opportunity for an Electrician to join us working across Dorset.
You'll be carrying out electrical installations, inspections and testing in our customers' homes, helping to keep them safe while delivering a high-quality service every day.
Your work will be scheduled for you and shared via your handheld PDA, so you'll be comfortable using technology to manage your jobs and complete records. You'll mainly work on your own, but you'll have the support of your regional supervisors and wider team, with regular toolbox talks and team meetings.
You'll travel across Dorset in a company van, so a full UK driving licence is essential. You could be in various locations in one day so there’s plenty of opportunity to take in your surroundings and get to know the wider Dorset region.
You'll be the friendly face of Aster, taking pride in delivering a right first time service and providing an excellent experience for our customers.
About you
You'll be a fully qualified Electrician with an AM2 qualification (or equivalent) and a City & Guilds 2391 qualification (or equivalent), along with demonstrable experience carrying out domestic electrical installations.
You’ll also have:
- Experience carrying out inspection and testing in line with British Standards, completing all necessary certification and records accurately.
- A good understanding of electrical regulations and health and safety requirements, ensuring all work is completed safely and compliantly.
- Strong installation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take pride in delivering a high-quality service.
- A customer-focused approach, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with customers and colleagues.

- A flexible approach to work, including the ability to take part in the regional out-of-hours standby rota.
- The willingness and ability to meet face fit requirements.
