Phoenix Rising International Film Festival are seeking an Editor-in-Chief / Magazine Editor for PRIFFZINE
Commitment: 1 day per week (remote) from June to November, with potential to continue
PRIFF is looking for an Editor-in-Chief / Magazine Editor to lead PRIFFZINE from June through to this year’s festival.
This is a key leadership role. You will define the editorial voice, shape each issue, and oversee the creation of content that reflects PRIFF’s identity as a bold, filmmaker-first festival.
You will also play an important role in building the PRIFFZINE team, supporting the recruitment and onboarding of additional contributors (writers and designers).
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the editorial direction of PRIFFZINE
- Plan and structure upcoming issues (themes, features, recurring sections)
- Commission and edit articles, interviews, and features
- Ensure consistency in tone, quality, and voice across all content
- Work closely with the PRIFF team on announcements, partnerships, and festival coverage
- Support the hiring and onboarding of additional magazine team members
- Oversee delivery timelines in the lead-up to the festival
About you:
- Has strong editorial judgement and a clear sense of voice
- Has experience in writing, editing, or publishing (film/media experience is a plus)
- Is highly organised and comfortable managing contributors and deadlines
- Understands what makes content engaging and worth reading
- Is collaborative and proactive, with a genuine interest in independent film
