We are looking to appoint two outstanding Level 3 Pre-School Practitioners in permanent part-time roles to join our friendly, supportive and creative team working in our pre-school class, The Hive.

The primary purpose of the role is to support children to learn as effectively as possible, to motivate and encourage, to recognise and respond to individual needs and to support the development of practical skills, self-esteem and independence. The postholder will hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification and will be able to work with knowledge and confidence with the EYFS Development Matters and Birth to 5 Matters.

Both roles are 22.5 hours per week spread over three days during term-time, plus five additional weeks (of five days per week, totalling 25 days) during the School holidays.

  • During term-time, the hours will be 8.30am to 4.30pm over three days on a two-week rota.
  • During the five weeks of work in the School holidays, the hours are either 8.00am to 2.00pm or 11.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday, a total of 30 hours per week.

The Hive is open for eight weeks during what are holiday times in the main School. To ensure staff only work five out of these eight weeks, we share these sessions between all staff, which enables everyone to have more time off and in longer blocks. Every staff member has each half term off, and the Christmas, Easter and Summer holiday weeks of work are shared as described. This flexible way of working ensures everyone benefits, so accepting this role will require accepting the change to the working pattern for five weeks during School holidays.

We are a small, friendly and welcoming group of individuals, and we work closely with teachers, Teaching Assistants and other support staff in the Infant and Junior School. Benefits include use of a School iPad, a Cycle-to-work scheme, a pension scheme for all Business Support Staff and a School Fee Remission Scheme. All staff are entitled to a two-course daily lunch during term time and to refreshments throughout the School day.

The successful candidates will enjoy contributing to an excellent working environment for pupils, staff, parents and the wider School community.
