Description

Department:                Promotion & Design Services Group (Digital Promotion & Analytics)

SUMMARY

The Digital Promotions Specialist helps The First Church of Christ, Scientist and the Christian Science Publishing Society grow and retain readership by executing paid and organic digital campaigns across platforms including Facebook, Google, email, and others. This role interprets promotional strategy into tactical execution, supporting reader acquisition, engagement, and retention initiatives that connect audiences with the content, products, and services of the Church.

P&DSG is a service-based group that shapes and guides, from a metaphysical foundation, the promotion and extension of products, services, and events that constitute the "healing and saving" resources of The Mother Church (see Manual of The Mother Church, Mary Baker Eddy, p. 19:1).

Aligned with the mission of P&DSG and reporting to the Head of Digital Promotions and Analytics, the Digital Promotions Specialist is responsible for implementing paid campaigns and supporting digital promotion programs to better understand our readers across core areas — including websites, email programs, social media, surveys and other promotion vehicles. The role requires creativity in campaign execution and a growing command of digital marketing tools and platforms, with work typically carried out in collaboration with senior promotions staff.

The Digital Promotions Specialist supports cross-functional work by partnering with P&DSG team members and client departments to drive growth, retention, and reactivation across the Church's digital channels. In collaboration with senior staff, this position contributes to the ongoing refinement of promotional processes and campaign execution, with a focus on increasing new, loyal, and paying readership and ensuring that campaigns deliver clear, demonstrable results.

The right candidate will bring strong attention to detail, a collaborative working style, and a genuine interest in the mission of the Church — along with an appreciation for the role that thoughtful digital promotion plays in connecting people with resources that matter to them.
