The Team

Team Structure

The Support and Development Worker is part of our
Support and Service Delivery pillar delivering mental
health support across Edinburgh.

Historic Forced Adoption Support Services

This role sits within Support and Services delivery, working
closely with the counselling team, who are offering
counselling to people affected by historic forced adoption
practices.

Service Manager

Development Workers facilitate peer groups and events, to
support people with the impact of historic forced adoption
practices in Scotland. Through offering trauma informed,
person centred support through groups, workshops and
events.

service

• Work closely with the historic forced adoption community
to provide relevant groups, workshops and events to
mothers, adoptees and other family members impacted.

Role Profile

Role Focus
• I am responsible for enquiries, initial conversations, baseline outcome measures, risk assessments
and reviews within my area. Ensuring that people get to the right service to improve their mental
health and wellbeing, and realise their potential, in line with their hopes and goals.

• I am community focused and work collaboratively, with curiosity, and flexibility.
• I respond to the needs of the community and people I work with. I ensure an enabling approach is
adopted, drawing on individuals’ personal assets and support networks together with community
resources.
