Deep Clean Operative - Home Help Worker

About us: Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland provides support & services to older people living in and around the city and county. To help people continue to live independently, we offer a chargeable cleaning service.

We are seeking a professional Deep Clean Operative who can also provide Home Help support. This dual role is essential in providing domestic cleaning services that enhances the health, well-being, and independence of older adults. You will carry out deep cleaning tasks customised to everyone’s needs, while also offering compassionate assistance that honours their dignity, privacy, and personal preferences. You must be a vehicle owner & driver, with the ability to gain business insurance, as you will be required to travel.

Role & Responsibilities :

DEEP CLEANS:

Provide domestic assistance in people’s own homes.
Support people using the service with decluttering their space through sorting personal items that may include clothing, food waste, correspondence etc.
To ensure that properties are intensively and thoroughly cleaned according to the job schedule.
To ensure that all rubbish and waste from a job is disposed of through general waste collection or skip hire, which is provided.
To ensure that carpet cleaning is carried out effectively with the equipment provided, forms part of the job schedule.
To ensure any equipment provided is cleaned and maintained.
Always respect confidentiality and work within current data legislation and guidance.

HOME HELP:

Assistance with the activities of daily living, including assistance with social activities.
Shopping (including preparation of shopping lists).
Assistance with paying bills
Preparation of snacks and meals.
Assistance with prescribed medication.
General cleaning and laundry.
Ensuring a professional relationship is always maintained.

Administration :

To maintain accurate and up-to-date records of work/support provided.
Maintain accurate records of financial transactions in line with Age UK’s policy and procedures.
Submit client timesheets on a weekly basis.
To record visits by phone using a Telemonitor system (if applicable).

Keyskills:

Experience in commercial/domestic cleaning or similar roles is preferred.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with clients and guests.
Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Ability to problem solve and find solutions
Highly organised with excellent time management skills
Adaptability with a flexible approach

Contract: 21 hours & zero hours for the home help duties
Salary: Deep Clean Operative £13.90 per hour
Salary: Home help worker £13.10 per hour
