An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Curriculum Team within the University Registry as a Curriculum Administrator. The Curriculum Team is one of four teams housed within the Registry, part of the Directorate of Academic Services and Online Education. Under the direction of the Assistant Registrar (Curriculum), the Curriculum Team is responsible for supporting users across the institution use a range of digital tools for the development and maintenance of the curriculum. The Curriculum Team also maintains the University’s online course selection system and acts as a main point of contact for the 13,000+ students who use the system each year, providing support via a online chat facility and email. During peak registration periods the Team also provide in-person support.
Job Description
Applications are therefore invited for the role of Curriculum Administrator. The Curriculum Administrator will play a key role within the Team, assisting with the annual review and update of the curriculum and providing support for staff using the University’s Curriculum Management System (CMS). The role will also involve assisting with the production of the University Calendar (degree prescriptions/specifications) and the University’s Catalogue of Courses (online course descriptors). In addition, you will assist with the updating, ongoing maintenance and operation of MyCurriculum. The work will require you to have a close attention to detail, accurate data inputting skills and a questioning mind to pick up possible issues when entering data.
In August-September/October and January-February the Curriculum Team provide a dedicated Support Service for students registering for the academic year ahead via the University’s University’s Online Registration and MyCurriculum systems. Support is provided via email and a dedicated online chat facility and, at peaks times, a “face to face” service is provided. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, and a customer focussed approach are therefore essential to this role. During peak periods when course selection is ongoing (August-September/October and January-February), the Curriculum Administrator may be expected to work additional hours, by negotiation, and as required.
For this varied role we are seeking a proactive and highly organised team player with meticulous attention to detail, accurate data inputting skills and the ability to use initiative and multi-task. You should have excellent IT skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages. Whilst in-house training will be provided on the various University systems used to maintain the curriculum and support registration, experience of Microsoft Dynamics and/or a curriculum management system would be a distinct advantage. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in writing and in in-person settings, and be committed to delivering a high standard of customer service.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on Grade 4, £28,199.00 - £31,236.00 per annum with placement according to qualifications and experience.
