JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Cricket Coach Department: PE Hours of Work: Fixed term (18 hours worked across Monday to Saturday) from April to July 2026 Responsible To: Director of Sport Responsible For: Summary of Role: Working alongside the Director of Sport and Head of Cricket to support the provision of cricket at Woldingham in line with the school’s core values of participation and pursuit of excellence, ensuring that there are playing opportunities for all pupils. Specific Responsibilities: • Assist the Head of Cricket to lead the Cricket programme from participation to performance, ensuring that there are playing opportunities for all pupils. • To take responsibility for, and contribute to, the coaching of cricket teams within the school. This will include Saturday matches alongside weekly games/training sessions and fixtures • To plan and deliver day-to-day coaching plans for the cricket coaching team, with a clear focus on enhancing the technical and tactical development of individuals and teams • To contribute to the performance analysis of individuals and teams, using video analysis tools (Veo) to review key performance indicators; provide players with feedback in collaboration with the Head of Cricket • To ensure all pupils’ experiences, at any level, are positive and enjoyable • To communicate with pupils and parents on important issues such as team selection and playing/training commitments • To contribute to co-curricular activities at lunchtime and after school • To be an ambassador for cricket and help raise the profile of Woldingham’s cricket in the local area and beyond • To assist coaches with the analysis of video and feedback to performance teams. • To liaise with the strength and conditioning team to ensure that appropriate access, guidance and challenge are provided for cricket-playing pupils. • Ability to confidently umpire cricket fixtures at all levels. • To undertake relevant mandatory and statutory training and development as required • To administer basic First Aid, if required, and be willing to assist pupils PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential Desirable • GCSE Level or above Maths and English - Desirable • Cricket Coaching Qualifications – ECB Level One and Level Two, or similar, accredited coaching qualification(s) • First Aid qualifications - Desirable • A driving licence and a willingness to undertake minibus training - Desirable Operational Excellence • Strong communication; both written and verbal • Strong organisational skills • Excellent interpersonal skills with good pastoral understanding • Ability to deliver and coach cricket on a one-to- one basis, in small groups and with whole classes • Ability to work effectively within a team • Excellent ICT Skills • Effective behaviour management skills Personal Behaviours • A good communicator. • The ability to work as part of a busy team. • High standards. • Positive and proactive; able to solve problems • Ability to maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents and staff Ethos and Whole School Values • Committed to operating as part of the School community. • Committed to the Sacred Heart Values. • Committed to Woldingham as a school with high academic standing providing a holistic education and outstanding pastoral care.
