Shape the Future of Contract Management at Aster Group
Are you excited by the chance to shape and embed a new, organisation‑wide approach to contract management - one that strengthens governance, enhances value and improves transparency across our supply chain?
We’re looking for an experienced and forward‑thinking Contract Management Lead to help us develop our commercial capability and implement a consistent, Group‑wide Contract Management Framework.
This is a brand‑new role within our Procurement function, giving you the space and support to design clear, practical tools and guidance, and to strengthen how we monitor supplier performance, risk, value and customer outcomes.
If you’re energised by creating best practice, building commercial capability and enabling colleagues to succeed, this is an opportunity to make a lasting and meaningful impact.
Why this role matters
Aster Group is on an exciting journey to enhance how we manage our supply chain, maximise value and strengthen commercial maturity. As Contract Management Lead, you will:
- Lead the design and implementation of a group-wide contract management framework.
- Establish a classification and tiering model that ensures our approach is robust, scalable and proportionate.
- Build governance, standards and tools that make contract management consistent, transparent and easy to adopt.
- Introduce modern contract lifecycle management systems and reporting approaches.
- Shape structured supplier engagement and performance monitoring that supports long‑term relationships.
- Provide commercial insight that informs future procurement activity and supports continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate and track the financial, service and social value generated through strong contract management.
This is a rare opportunity to take a blank canvas and design a framework that will influence how we manage millions of pounds of goods, works and services for years to come.
This is a hybrid role with travel into the region likely to be required twice per month.
Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London
About you
You’re a strategic thinker with practical commercial experience, someone who enjoys shaping direction as much as delivering outcomes. You bring:
- Strong experience in contract management or commercial roles, ideally with high-value or complex contracts.
- Confidence in applying contract management best practice across the lifecycle.
- The ability to interpret performance data and turn it into meaningful insight.
- Experience in regulated procurement environments (e.g. PCR, Procurement Act 2023).
- Strong influencing skills and the ability to build trust with senior stakeholders.
- Experience supporting or leading on supplier performance, issue resolution or commercial negotiation.
- A collaborative mindset and a passion for enabling others to succeed.
- A relevant professional qualification (CIPS, WCC or equivalent) or equivalent experience (desirable).
You’ll also provide leadership and direction to the new Contract Management Analyst, helping shape a growing area of expertise within the Procurement Team.
About the Procurement Team
You’ll be joining a Procurement function that is evolving, expanding its capability and investing in data, systems and people. The Contract Management Lead role is central to this maturity journey, offering a genuine opportunity to shape the future, influence culture and leave a lasting legacy.
