We are looking for a passionate and engaging Community Trainer to join our Advice Team and help strengthen the skills and knowledge of frontline staff and volunteers across the voluntary, community, faith, and statutory sectors.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced trainer who is motivated by social impact and enjoys working directly with communities and partner organisations.
What you’ll be doing
As Community Trainer, you’ll design and deliver accessible training to help frontline workers and volunteers support residents affected by the cost of living (including benefits, debt and energy costs). You’ll work with partners to identify needs, maintain a relevant programme and build confidence and practical skills across the community sector.
You’ll deliver sessions online and in community venues across Gateshead, adapting content for different audiences. You’ll meet delivery targets, use feedback to improve, keep accurate records, and support colleagues and volunteers involved in training.
You’ll build relationships across voluntary, community, faith and statutory organisations, strengthening capacity and spotting emerging issues. You’ll contribute to internal training, feed insight into social policy work, and champion equality, diversity and inclusion. Flexibility is needed to support delivery across a 7-day service.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have experience designing and delivering training, understand the challenges facing Gateshead communities, and bring strong communication, facilitation and partnership-building skills.
You’ll be confident using ICT and keeping accurate records, able to tailor your approach to different audiences, and flexible to support delivery across a 7-day service.
If you’re an enthusiastic trainer who cares about community empowerment and social impact, we’d love to hear from you.
