Communicator Guide | Treorchy & Pontypridd | 8 hrs/week | Permanent

Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose.

We're looking for a Communicator Guide based between Treorchy (CF42) and Pontypridd (CF37) to join our team on a permanent basis. Working 8 hours per week; Mondays 12pm–4pm and one other suitable afternoon starting after 1:30pm. You'll be supporting adult clients with sensory loss to do the things that matter to them, in a way that works for them.

BSL at user level or Level 2 and above is essential for this role. Previous experience in a similar position is a real advantage, as is an understanding of a range of health conditions. A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle with business insurance is also essential.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • A BSL user or holds Level 2 and above
  • A confident, friendly communicator who puts people at ease
  • Experienced in or passionate about supporting people with sensory loss
  • A driver with their own vehicle and business insurance

This role might include supporting people with:

  • Shopping and attending appointments
  • Socialising and community activities
  • Telephone calls and managing correspondence
  • Day-to-day tasks that support independent living
