Salary: £26,227.50 per annum full time salary
Interviews 22nd, 23rd and 25th of June
Are you passionate about supporting others? Come and join our friendly team!
We currently have a Community Support Worker role available in Frome – Somerset. This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week with potential of more hours as service increases.
What you’ll do:
You’ll work with local people to build their skills, local connections and friendships. You’ll make sure that the people you work with (Members) are doing as much as they can for themselves, that they are looking after themselves and that they have a life that is bigger than social care support.
- For David, this meant helping him to sort out his money so that he paid his bills and had some money left over to spend on what he’s really passionate about: World of Warcraft. Now he feels in control of his money, he has a new goal and is saving for a trip abroad.
- For Carol, it was about setting alarms so that she remembered to take her tablets. Now she feels less anxious she’s getting out and about and meeting other Members.
You’ll feel inspired and help inspire people. You’ll encourage them to try new things and have new experiences. You’ll reassure but you won’t take over. Every Member you support is unique, and every day will be different.
Your role will be out and about. You’ll meet people in their homes or at local venues.
What you won’t be expected to do:
We support people with a lot of different things to do with leading an ordinary life, but we don’t do things like bathing people or taking them to the toilet. This is sometimes called personal care. If people need personal care, we will work with other local support providers to make sure they get what they need.
