Help us make a difference to people with life-limiting illnesses…

At The Myton Hospices, we provide specialist care and support for people with life-limiting illnesses, and their loved ones, from the point of diagnosis to end of life. We are a much-loved and well supported charity, at the heart of our community. We have three hospices, a range of community services, and 26 charity shops in Coventry and Warwickshire.

About the role

Join our team in a new, fixed-term role, providing operational leadership for three of our community support services (Telephone Support, Compassionate Neighbours, and Support Hubs).

These services offer non-clinical support in people’s homes, over the phone, or in our Support Hubs, where they can be listened to and directed to the most appropriate support.

As our Community Support Services Manager, you will be:

  • Recruitment, management and development of volunteers
  • Networking and delivering training to raise awareness of services
  • Matching Compassionate Neighbours with Community Members
  • Ensuring personal data is collected and stored responsibly
  • Processing referrals of Community Members
  • Carrying out needs and suitability assessment visits
  • Managing income and expenditure budgets

This is an on-site role working 28 hours per week, over a minimum of four days, across our three hospices in Warwick, Coventry and Rugby. You will also be driving within the local area to carry out assessment visits. It will be a fixed term contract for 12 months.

About you

We are looking for a Community Support Services Manager with:

  • Experience in social care, healthcare administration or community development
  • Experience of managing people (both staff members and volunteers)
  • Level 4 diploma or equivalent, in Health and Social Care
  • Empathy, strong communication and organisational skills
  • UK driving licence and own vehicle (roadworthy and suitably insured)
  • The right to work in the UK (we cannot provide sponsorship)

As this role requires travel, you must be able to travel within Coventry and Warwickshire.

This role will require an enhanced DBS check because you will be managing people in an adult healthcare service. We will arrange and cover the cost of this check if you are offered the role.

Similar job titles include: Community Care Manager; Service Manager; Health Social Care Manager.

We are committed to building an inclusive workplace and encourage everyone to bring their true selves to work. However you identify, and whatever background you bring with you, we welcome you to apply. If there are any adjustments that would help improve your experience with Myton, we encourage you to share this with us.

We particularly welcome applications from people with disabilities and from ethnic minorities, who are currently under-represented in our hospices. We also believe our interview process should be inclusive and transparent. If there is anything missing, or a way we can improve, please do let us know.
