Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust are now looking for a Community Shop Manager for our Chelmsley Wood Shop to lead a team of volunteers, achieve set targets and to maintain standards. You’ll work 37.5 hours per week, including some weekend working.

About the Role

Acorns Children's Hospice are a children's charity, offering specialist palliative nursing care and support for local children and their families. Every year, we support over 750 children and nearly 1,000 families, including those who are bereaved. We have a network of charity shops across the West Midlands and Gloucestershire, which help to provide the funding that we need to provide this care.

As Community Shop Manager, you will:

  • Create an engaging and memorable shop floor experience that differentiates Acorns from competitors and inspires customers to support our mission.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of volunteers and Deputy Managers to deliver excellent customer service and achieve store objectives.
  • Take ownership of local decision‑making, including stock quality, pricing levels and visual merchandising, to optimise sales and customer appeal.
  • Act with an entrepreneurial mindset to maximise every sales opportunity, analysing sales reports and using data and trends to drive informed commercial decisions

About You

  • Retail experience and experience of working towards targets
  • Experience of leading and motivating a team
  • IT skills
  • Happy to work weekends
  • Enjoy a role that involves significant levels of manual handling
