Do you want to help people reconnect with their communities and make a real difference in their lives?

Are you passionate about supporting people who feel isolated or lonely? Do you believe everyone deserves to feel part of their community? As a Community Connector, you’ll work directly with individuals to help them build confidence, access local services, and re-engage with the world around them. You’ll be part of a compassionate team that works closely with adult social care and partner organisations to create lasting social connections and enable people to live more independently without the need to statutory support. Could you be the person who helps someone take that first step?

What will a day in the life of a Community Connector involve?

  • Meeting with individuals to understand their needs and offer tailored support.
  • Linking people with local services, activities, and community groups.
  • Working closely with adult social care to identify where preventative support could be appropriate.
  • Building relationships with partner agencies across Reading to develop sustainable community networks.
  • Excellent communication skills and a warm, empathetic approach.
  • Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the local area and how communities operate.
  • A genuine passion for helping people overcome loneliness and build connections.
