Job title          Citizens Advice Specialist Adviser Worcester and Herefordshire St Richard’s Hospice

Hours             21 hours per week across 3 days ideally Monday–Wednesday, though Tuesday–Thursday may be considered for the right candidate

Salary             £29,539.86 full time per annum, actual pro rata £16,765.87 per annum

Contract        Permanent

Location         Wildwood Drive, Worcester WR5 2QT within the Family Support Service Team

The role

Citizens Advice Worcester and Herefordshire have an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Adviser to work in partnership with St Richard’s Hospice.

This role will be based at the hospice and embedded within the Family Support Service Team, contributing to the wider multi-disciplinary palliative care team. The post holder will deliver a holistic, accessible and in-depth advice service tailored to the needs of individuals, carers and families across South Worcestershire who are living with an illness that cannot be cured.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist advice in line with Citizens Advice aims, policies, and principles
  • Support patients, carers, and families with a wide range of issues affecting those living with an incurable illness.
  • Manage a varied caseload, including complex cases and client representation
  • Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary healthcare environment

This post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

About you

The successful candidate will:

  • Have substantial experience in advice work and case management
  • Be confident in client representation and working with complex issues
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a good understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with an illness that cannot be cured, and those experiencing bereavement
  • Be committed to the principles of the Citizens Advice service and willing to complete the Generalist Advice Training

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel independently across the county
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
