    About The Role

    The Centre for Integrative Semiconductor Materials (CISM) at Swansea University is seeking three highly motivated Trainee Semiconductor Engineers to join an exciting internship programme delivered in partnership with Vishay Newport Ltd, one of the UK's leading semiconductor manufacturers.

    The internships will be embedded within one of three specialist industrial teams at Vishay Newport:

    • New Product Introduction (NPI)
    • Process Engineering
    • Manufacturing Engineering

    Working alongside engineers and researchers from both Swansea University and Vishay Newport, trainees will gain practical experience in semiconductor device fabrication, characterisation, process development and manufacturing engineering within a commercial semiconductor environment. The placements provide an excellent opportunity for students considering careers in semiconductor manufacturing, power electronics and advanced materials.

    The successful candidates will develop hands-on skills using state-of-the-art semiconductor processing and characterisation facilities at CISM and industrial manufacturing facilities at Vishay Newport, whilst contributing to collaborative research and development activities.

    This is a fixed term position for 6-9 months duration
