Selby Abbey offers three Choral Scholarships which are paid ‘section-leader’ singing and training opportunities. These are funded by a grant awarded in 2023 by the Liz and Terry Bramall Foundation to support the development of church music at the Abbey. We wish to appoint an Alto, Tenor, and Bass Choral Scholar for the academic year beginning in September 2026. The period of appointment will initially be for one year, with the possibility of extending in further years, subject to mutual agreement and ongoing funding. We welcome applications from candidates of any age or gender.
How To Apply
Applicants are invited to download the following from the Choral Scholar advertisement placed
on the Abbey’s website: www.selbyabbey.org.uk or can request via the email address below if
preferred:
- The Confidential Declaration Form
- An Application Form
Applicants should complete both forms and email them, together with a brief covering letter, to Oliver Waterer, Director of Music: music@selbyabbey.org.uk
The closing date is Friday, 29th May 2026
