Children and Families Leader, Hart Plain
Children and Families’ Leader for the Parish of Hart Plain, Waterlooville
Hart Plain Church is excited to have received funding for a three-year post to build on their ministry to children and families.
We are looking to recruit someone to work with the ministers and leadership team of Hart Plain Church to transform the ministry to children and families in our local community.
This work will continue the ministry already being carried out through our thriving toddler group, our Children’s Sunday Club and all-age worship, and our relationships with our preschool and local schools, and the groups who meet on our premises.
The Role
Hart Plain Church is looking to employ a Children and Families’ leader for 20 hours per week during termtime.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about ministry to children and families to transform and shape ministry across our parish.
The post is funded for 3 years.
You will be responsible to the Deacon-in-Charge, Revd Kate Macfarlane, but with freedom and support to develop the role and to initiate new ideas, ventures and activities.
Context
Hart Plain Church in Waterlooville is a Local Ecumenical Partnership between the Church of England and the Methodist Church. It is part of the Diocese of Portsmouth and the East Solent and Downs Circuit.
Hart Plain has been working together as a single congregation (Methodist and Anglican) since 1975. We value and celebrate the traditions of our two denominations and wish to continue working together as a single congregation. We feel that this is a living example of unity and provides an established Christian presence in the local community.
One of our mission priorities is to integrate schools work, baptism ministry and the worshipping of the church to grow disciples among families and young people.
Hours
This post is for 20 hours a week during termtime (39 weeks a year) for a three-year period.
The pattern of working will be planned with the line manager and will include Tuesday mornings (Toddler Group) and Sunday mornings (Main parish service). Working hours may include occasional evening and weekend events and meetings. There is a three-month probationary period.
Salary
The salary is £12,480 per year for a 20-hour week plus agreed ministry expenses. Holiday allowance is 4.2 weeks and holidays must be taken during Hampshire Schools holidays.
This is a ‘term time only’ post for 39 weeks a year and time in lieu will be given for occasional working outside the school term, e.g. Good Friday and Christmas Eve.
