Chef de Partie (Conference and Events)

Jesus College is seeking to appoint a Chef de Partie (Conference and Events) responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality food for conferences, meetings, corporate events, and private functions. We are seeking an experienced and competent individual who has the skills and confidence to take responsibility for the preparation, cooking and presentation of food for conference delegates. This will include breakfasts, working lunches, buffets, and formal dinners. The role requires strong planning skills, efficiency under pressure, and the ability to produce consistently excellent food for both small meetings and large-scale events.

The Conference and Events Chef de Partie duties will also include preparing sandwiches and café food offerings as directed by the Head Chef. They will be expected to ensure all meals meet high standards of quality, presentation, and taste, and produce menus that cater to diverse dietary requirements (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, allergies).

Candidates should have experience working in a busy conference centre or venue in a similar capacity and the ability to work under pressure dealing with last minute changes in a professional manner. They should also be able to lead by example, be able to work without supervision and be approachable. We are looking for someone who has a passion to deliver exceptional customer service in a results-based environment.

Candidates should have a minimum NVQ qualification Level 2, preferable Level 3

Hours of work are mostly Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm. On occasions some flexibility in working days and hours including weekends and evenings will be required. Additional hours worked are claimed as TOIL (Time Off In Lieu)
