Casual Sales Assistant – Teddington Books
FARA is recruiting for a motivated and friendly Casual Sales Assistant to support our Shop Manager and team in the effective running of our busy shop in Teddington Books.
FARA Teddington Books store is recruiting a Casual Sales Assistant. You will join a vibrant, busy charity retail environment, where no two days are the same and the local community is at the heart of everything that we do. FARA has 39 Charity Shops, helping disadvantaged children and young people in Romania for the last 30 years. Join us and be part of a team that makes a real difference every day!
The Role:
We are looking for a motivated and friendly Casual Sales Assistant to support our Shop Manager and team in the smooth day-to-day running of our busy shop. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a dynamic and varied work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort and prepare book donations for sale
- Price books / Identify valuable and collectable books
- Assist with the placement of books on shelves
- Handle cash and operate the till
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere for customers
- Address customer queries and resolve issues
- Build connections within the local community
- Stay informed about our products and current promotions
The Candidate:
- At least 1 year of retail or related experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong team player with a collaborative mindset
- Organised, efficient, and proactive
- Has a genuine passion for books
- Positive attitude and a customer-first approach
- Able to assist the team with all shop duties e.g. lifting/ handling of loads/crates/sacks
- Having some knowledge of children’s merchandise is desirable
- Reside within 45 minutes of the shop
Working Hours & Conditions:
- Location: FARA Teddington Books, TW11 8RF
- Shop Opening Hours: 09:00 – 17:00
- 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute paid break
- Any days per week, Including Weekends.There would be no obligation for us to offer work or for you to accept it, giving you flexibility with choosing when you wish to work.
