Hours

We are looking for staff to work 2 to 3 shifts per week and the amount of hours can vary depending on your availability and shifts available. A rough guide would be anything from 8hrs to a max of 20hrs per week.

The Role:

You will work primarily in a front of house role alongside our Café team, serving a variety of hot and cold food and beverages across both Rectors Café in our main building and the Old Union Coffee Shop on North Street. You will be working with a young enthusiastic frontline team.

Other duties you will be responsible for are:

• Arriving on time for any scheduled shifts.

• Open/close of the café when required.

• Preparation of hot and cold drinks and food for sale direct to the customer.

• Serving customers to the highest standard contributing to the Customer Experience.

• Operating the till and taking the correct payments.

• Maintaining food and drinks displays, re-stocking as required and rotating stock.

• Adhering to all Health and Hygiene procedures within the Café operation.

• Cleaning front and back of house areas on a daily basis including dishwashing.

• Routine close down and cashing up as required.

Rate of Pay:

The current rate of pay is £12.71 per hr, there is an additional 12% included in your hourly rate in lieu of holiday pay, paid monthly.?

Shifts and Availability:?

The role involves a combination of days, evenings and weekend working and exact shifts may vary week to week according to the needs of the operation.

We ask all staff to provide a set weekly availability so we can allocate shifts to work for you and the operation.

If you do need to request days off from work, we can be flexible with this but these are allocated on a first come first served basis.

We do ask staff to be available for some shifts during our key times such deadlines, exams weeks, Freshers and Refreshers week and Graduations.

There will be no shifts available during the 2 week Christmas closure period when the building fully closes down.

Uniform:

You will be supplied with a Rectors t shirt which must be clean and ironed for each shift. We would ask you supply your own dark/black trousers or suitable length skirt and comfortable footwear.
