Here at Sense, we support people with complex disabilities to live the life they choose. We now have opportunities for Casual Children's Services Assistants to join our team in Jordanstown, working on a relief basis with flexible hours to suit you; Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, at £13.00 per hour.

You'll be part of a dedicated team working across our Children's Nursery and After School Club, supporting children with complex disabilities and complex needs. No two days are the same — one moment you might be helping a child learn a new skill, the next supporting them to connect with others in the way that works best for them. It's a role where your presence genuinely matters.

A minimum Level 2 Childcare qualification (or equivalent) is essential for this role. You will also need access to your own vehicle.

This role might include supporting children with:

  • Learning new skills and building confidence
  • Personal care and hygiene
  • Making sense of their environment and accessing their community
  • Medication and wellbeing
  • Communication in the way that works best for them
  • Their social life and behaviour

Who we're looking for:

  • Someone warm, patient, and genuinely passionate about working with children
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a caring nature
  • A commitment to empowering children to live full, fulfilling lives
  • Experience in a childcare setting, particularly with children with disabilities (desirable)
  • Willingness to attend training and develop in your role

Benefits

  • Free ACCESS NI check
  • On-going development opportunities
  • Flexible working and family friendly policies
