Who are we?

Part business, part charity, part membership body – students’ unions are all seriously fun places to work. They are organisations in their own right. Professionally run, but different. Professional teams support elected student leaders to make change, improve lives and fulfil potential; we help make it happen. Founded in 1897, LSE Students' Union is one of the oldest Students' Unions in the UK and is the representative and campaigning body for students at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). ?Like other Students' Unions, it also funds and facilitates student activities on campus, including 200+ societies, 40+ sports clubs through the Athletics Union (AU), the Media Group and Raising and Giving (RAG) charitable fundraising initiatives.

What’s the job?

LSE Students’ Union has one of the largest and best offerings of student clubs and societies (including RAG and the media groups) in London, which shapes and impacts on almost every student’s experience of LSE. The post-holder for this role will support the development of those that are predominantly careers-focused, with the aim of building the relationship that they have with LSE Careers. The person in this role will also provide administrative support and event/project coordination for student groups and volunteers, making sure to communicate effectively and offer exceptional customer service to the diverse range of members who engage.

Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a professional individual who has a passion for student experience, activities and events – all within a fast-paced environment. It is important that you have good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to provide excellent customer service, to ensure that our students/groups receive the best possible experience from our support. You must have a keen eye for detail and an organised approach to your work, as you’ll be handling sensitive data/information, and have various competing priorities at any one time. Applicants should also be positive, committed and approachable, with the ability to develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and a desire to work in an organisation that services a culturally diverse membership.

Why apply?

Because you’re excited by the challenge! The exact opposite of corporate, we’re progressive, daring and creative individuals working to make a difference in unconventional workplaces. Plus…
