Care Assistant – full and part-time

Job Purpose

Horsfall House offers Care Assistant jobs in Minchinhampton for people who want to support residents with their personal and social care needs. You will promote dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and independence at all times. You will also work closely with colleagues to deliver high-quality care. In addition, you will support resident activities and escort residents to appointments when needed.

Salary and Hours

Salary: £12.24 – £13.34 per hour, depending on experience, NVQ qualification level, and shift pattern.
Schedule: Full-time and part-time permanent positions available. Day and evening shifts are available.

Key Responsibilities

Provide physical and social care, including mobility support, toileting, bathing, and feeding.
Encourage residents to maintain their independence wherever possible.
Review and follow individual care plans and contribute to the care planning process.
Report changes in a resident’s condition to the Unit Manager or Nurse in Charge.
Work effectively as part of the care team and report to your direct supervisor as required.
Liaise with colleagues across Horsfall House to help ensure the home runs smoothly.
Support residents during meals and refreshment times, serving food, assist with feeding and monitor dietary intake.
Record menu choices and dietary requirements.
Assist with planning and delivering resident activities.
Work alongside the activities team to promote engagement and wellbeing.
Maintain accurate records of daily care and support.
Welcome visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
Attend to the front door outside normal hours when required.
Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchenette.
Follow food hygiene regulations and the MCEL Food Safety policy.
Carry out keyworker duties for residents.
Support residents with shopping, letter writing, and reading.
Help organise family contact and community activities.
Support residents to attend spiritual events and participate in voting when required.

Candidate Requirements
