Finance Manager at Horsfall House
Location: Minchinhampton, Stroud.
Job Summary:
Horsfall House is seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of financial management within our charity. This pivotal role will support the CEO and Board of Trustees by providing strategic financial guidance, ensuring robust financial controls and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Working closely with the Treasurer, you will play a key role in safeguarding the financial integrity of Horsfall House.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver accurate Management Accounts following an initial induction period.
- Oversee and maintain all accounting records and financial documentation.
- Support the development of annual financial plans and provide detailed reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing day-to-day communications.
- Manage invoicing, debtor tracking, and bank reconciliations.
- Oversee purchasing processes, including invoice control and payment authorisation.
- Maintain and update the fixed asset register.
- Ensure timely and accurate Company Secretarial filings and compliance with Charity Commission requirements.
Person Specification:
- A CCAB accounting qualification is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in managing small teams.
- Strong ability to collaborate across departments and work constructively with colleagues of varying skill sets in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in the care sector is advantageous but not required.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Self-motivated with a clear understanding of the broader strategic role.
- Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous service improvement.

Your Role

Vacancy: Registered Nurse
Schedule: Full-time, permanent. Day and night shifts available.
Job Purpose: The Registered Nurse is responsible for the unit when on duty including:
- Team Leader
- Assess, implement and evaluate residents’ care needs
- Supervise the standard of care delivered by the staff team
- Participate in the teaching and induction/training programmes of junior staff as required
Assume, in the absence of the Unit manager, responsibility for the running of the unit including all resident issues, staff and the premises; this will include Health, Safety, Fire and Emergency procedures whilst in charge of the shift.
Key Tasks:
- To provide a high standard of direct care to residents based upon the assessment of care needs and in conjunction with the residents, their relatives, and the care team.
- To continuously evaluate the quality of care given, and regularly reassess the needs accurately, recording in digital daily records.
- To administer, record, store and dispose of medication safely and within Horsfall House, the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) guidelines and policies. To take part in the ordering of drugs on shift and as requested in the repeat ordering system.
- To ensure that all procedures are understood by junior staff and are carried out according to Horsfall House policies and procedures.
- To liaise closely with health professionals and arrange appointments as required.
- To record accurately all information relating to your shift, according to NMC guidelines in Record Keeping and Horsfall House policies.
- To continuously review your own nursing practices thereby developing new skills and knowledge through continuous professional development training that contribute to the enhancement of resident/client care skills.
- To assist the Unit Manager in the appraisal and supervision process of junior staff as requested.
- To ensure the social, religious, cultural, emotional and psychological well-being of the residents and support relatives as necessary.
- To liaise with other Horsfall House staff to ensure the smooth running of the home.
Candidate:
It would be desirable, but not essential, that the successful candidate demonstrated experience in a similar industry and have senior management experience and qualifications in The candidate would be required to show their competence as a nurse and be an excellent communicator with planning skills and the ability to prioritise tasks and delegate accordingly. They will need to manage and motivate all who work and volunteer at Horsfall House conducting excellent people skills.

Job Summary:
Preparation of foods, wiping down work areas, hot trollies and cleaning. Dishwasher use. Stocking up satellite kitchens on the two nursing units and Day centre. Staff meals allocated. Support the Chef throughout the day. One weekend day shift will be part of the working pattern.
Candidate:
This can be someone with or without experience, someone who likes to go home at the end of the shift knowing they have been part of enabling the residents to enjoy their variety of meals.
Salary:
£11.44 – £11.86 (over 22 years) per hour.
£10.90 – £11.40 (under 22 years) per hour.
Higher rate is the weekend rate.

Vacancy: Home Care Carer
Schedule: Full-time, part-time, permanent.
Shift and schedule:
- AM Shift – 07.30-13.30
- PM Shift – 16.00-22.00
Location: Minchinhampton, Chalford, Nailsworth, Stroud and surrounding areas.
Job Purpose:
Our clients want to remain as independent as they can for as long as possible. You can be a big part of that by giving person-centred support that is dignified and caring.
Your role will involve offering support for everyone, making it interesting and varied. No two days are the same because no two people are the same. You will need to be adaptable, approachable and reliable.
Key Tasks:
- Assisting vulnerable people with personal care and other daily requirements in their own home.
- Serving as a companion to clients.
- Assisting with medication.
- Preparing meals and occasional shopping for groceries or other essentials.
- Monitoring clients and raising concerns where necessary.
- Ensuring clients are safe and comfortable by giving person-centred care for each individual and assisting with safe moving of clients where required.
- Ensuring all clients are safeguarded from harm.
Candidate:
No experience is required, just a caring nature and a genuine interest in working in care.
Full training will be given. Must have a full driving license with access to a car and business car insurance.
