Reporting to the Director of Fundraising & Supporter Relations

The Business Partnership Fundraiser will lead on the development, management, and growth of corporate and business partnerships that generate income and wider support for The Mary Stevens Hospice.

The postholder will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, stewarding existing corporate supporters, and developing innovative partnership opportunities that align business objectives with the hospice’s strategy.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role requiring excellent relationship management, commercial awareness, creativity, and the ability to deliver against ambitious income targets.

·         Develop and deliver an ambitious business partnerships strategy, to achieve and exceed agreed income targets 

·         Identify, research, prospect, and approach new corporate partners and business supporters 

·         Build a strong pipeline of prospective supporters through networking, market research, referrals, and proactive outreach 

·         Secure income and support through: 

o        Corporate partnerships 

o        Charity of the Year partnerships 

o        Sponsorship opportunities 

o        Employee fundraising initiatives 

o        Payroll giving promotion

o        Corporate & Major Donor Donations

o        Cause-related marketing campaigns 

o        Strategic business collaborations 

o        Gifts in kind 

·         Create compelling, tailored proposals and partnership packages that align organisational objectives with hospice needs 

·         Negotiate partnership agreements and secure mutually beneficial outcomes 

·         Develop and maintain excellent relationships with existing corporate supporters to maximise retention and long-term value 

·         Deliver exceptional stewardship to all business supporters 

·         Act as the main point of contact for corporate partners, ensuring timely communication and excellent account management 

·         Develop bespoke engagement plans for key partners 

·         Ensure all partnership benefits are fulfilled effectively and professionally 

·         Identify opportunities to deepen engagement and increase support over time 

·         Work collaboratively with internal teams to deliver partnership activities 

·         Coordinate and support corporate fundraising events, campaigns, and initiatives 

·         Ensure partners receive appropriate recognition, visibility, and impact reporting 

·         Develop creative engagement opportunities including: 

o        Employee volunteering 

o        Awareness campaigns 

o        Site visits 

o        Hospice engagement experiences 

o        Business networking initiatives 

·         Represent The Mary Stevens Hospice at networking events, business forums, conferences, and corporate events 

·         Build relationships with key local and regional business networks 

·         Act as an ambassador for the hospice, promoting its work and impact confidently and professionally 

·         Develop opportunities to raise the hospice’s profile within the business community 

·         Accurately record all activity, engagement, and income using CRM systems 

·         Monitor and report on progress against KPIs and income targets 

·         Produce regular pipeline, forecasting, and performance reports 

·         Analyse partnership performance and identify opportunities for growth 

·         Maintain accurate records in accordance with GDPR and data protection requirements 

·         Ensure all activities comply with: 

o        Fundraising Regulator guidance 

o        GDPR and data protection legislation 

o        Institute of Fundraising best practice 

o        The Mary Stevens Hospice policies and procedures 

·         Maintain high professional and ethical fundraising standards 

·         Proven success in fundraising, business development, account management, sales, or partnership development 

·         Experience of securing and managing external partnerships 

·         Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding financial targets 

·         Experience of building long-term stakeholder relationships 

·         Experience of preparing persuasive proposals and presentations 

·         Experience using CRM or donor management systems 

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

·         Strong negotiation and influencing skills 

·         Commercial awareness and strategic thinking 

·         Strong organisational and project management skills 

·         Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively 

·         Confident networking and relationship-building ability 

·         Strong presentation skills 

·         Competence in Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems 

·         Experience within sales, charity or the hospice sector.

·         Knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ESG priorities 

·         Experience of partnership management
