We are looking for an experienced Business Operations Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring that Q's planning, governance, financial management and operational systems support the successful delivery of our ambitious strategy.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and collaborative professional who enjoys turning strategy into action, improving systems and processes, and working closely with senior leaders to drive organisational performance.

The role

As Business Operations Manager, you will be at the heart of Q's operational delivery. Working closely with the Managing Director, Deputy Director and colleagues across the NHS Alliance, you will ensure robust planning, governance, financial oversight and performance management arrangements are in place.

You will coordinate annual and quarterly planning cycles, oversee governance processes, support strategic decision-making through high-quality reporting, and lead the development and monitoring of budgets and forecasts. You will also help strengthen organisational effectiveness by improving systems, managing operational risks, overseeing supplier and contract activity, and embedding continuous improvement across the team.

What you'll be doing

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading Q's annual planning and quarterly review processes.

  • Coordinating governance arrangements and supporting leadership and advisory group meetings.

  • Managing budget planning, forecasting and financial reporting.

  • Overseeing contracts, suppliers and procurement processes.

  • Supporting effective use of operational systems including CRM, SharePoint and project management tools.

  • Managing operational risk processes and business continuity activities.

  • Monitoring performance against agreed objectives, KPIs and delivery milestones.

  • Driving improvements in ways of working, systems and organisational effectiveness.

  • Embedding equality, diversity and inclusion throughout all aspects of your work.

About you

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Significant experience of financial management, budgeting and forecasting within a complex organisation.

  • Strong experience of translating financial and operational information into clear insights for decision-makers.

  • Experience supporting governance, risk management and compliance processes.

  • Proven project management and organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities and stakeholders.

  • A track record of improving processes, systems and operational delivery.

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, Teams, SharePoint and CRM systems.

You'll join a supportive and purpose-driven team, where your expertise will directly contribute to strengthening how Q delivers its impact across the health and care system
