Wirral Hospice St Johns has a 43-year history of supporting the residents of Wirral who have incurable life limiting illness. The organisation continues to grow and develop in response to the needs of our community. Currently support is delivered by multi-professional teams working in our Inpatient unit, Outpatient, Wellbeing and Hospice at Home services.

The hospice benefits from being an independent charity allowing flexibility and creativity in the design and delivery of services whilst being firmly integrated with key local NHS providers. Care and support is delivered with integrity and quality.

We are looking to recruit a Bereavement Support Coordinator. This is a rare and exciting opportunity. The successful candidate will be in charge of assessing and coordinating bereavement support for the hospice. They will also coordinate the bereavement volunteers.

Bereavement support is offered on an individual and in group settings within the hospice and community including a walking group. The Bereavement Coordinator also works closely with the Spiritual Care Coordinator with bimonthly remembrance service.

Bereavement support helps service users to gain strength, improve resilience and help them to work through strategies for coping.

The successful candidate will need to be dynamic, enthusiastic and compassionate as well as having good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.

Working for Wirral Hospice St Johns offers a rewarding career in a friendly environment with opportunities to make a real difference to peoples’ lives.

In return, some of the benefits that we can offer to the successful candidates include continuation of NHS Superannuation Pension Scheme, for existing members of the NHS Pension Scheme and a commitment to learning and development.
