JOB DESCRIPTION: Behaviour Analyst

Hours:

40 hours 35 mins per week.
8.20 – 5.00 (M/T/W/T) 8.20 – 4.45 (F)

40 weeks per year (190 teaching days term time plus 5 staff training days and 5 additional admin days)

Line Manager: Lead Supervisor

Probationary Period: Six months

JOB PURPOSE

You will work alongside our team of Behaviour Analysts and qualified Teachers, working directly with a number of allocated pupils for whom you will have direct responsibility. You will ensure the pupils will achieve and flourish at Quest because of effective delivery of, access to and progression through their personalised curriculum, learning support strategies and behaviour plans underpinned by the scientific principles of learning and behaviour (ABA).

You will also be responsible for direct line management of Senior Tutors and ensuring staff are trained and assessed to be teaching at a high quality.

ROLE SPECIFICATION

Education:

Oversee full implementation of pupils’ individual learning programmes, including OT, S&L and any other specific requirements.

Liaise with multi-disciplinary team (ABA, OT, S&L) to discuss target setting and oversee implementation of agreed targets and strategies.

Take responsibility for writing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for allocated pupils.

Ensure each allocated new pupil has completed a baseline assessment within 2 months of admission.

• Ensure each child’s academic assessment is updated twice a year (Dec & July).

Ensure that each child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP) is reviewed and updated (in line with review dates) and sent to parents, giving opportunity for parents to discuss.

• Liaise with Teachers to set termly behaviour and social targets as required.

• Oversee implementation of curriculum across relevant areas e.g. entry level curriculum.

• Contribute to development of new curriculum as required e.g. Asdan programmes.

• Provide educational assessments and other input as part of the admissions process, where required.

• Provide transition programmes for new pupils.

• Make home and school visits, where necessary, for new and existing pupils.

• Oversee the Senior Tutors are monitoring the collection of pupils’ learning and behaviour data as required.

Provide effective monitoring of pupils’ learning progress, and ensure that all relevant data is inputted into the required progress tracking systems.

• Contribute to the collation and analysis of whole school pupil progress data.

• Oversee selection and ordering of pupil resources for allocated pupils.

Implement pupils’ academic programmes in accordance with whole school curriculum plans eg reading scheme, RSE curriculum plan

Pupils’ health and wellbeing:

Ensure care plans are up to date and filed in the relevant locations

Ensure pupil medications are logged and administered as required and in accordance with the school’s policy, including any specified parental paperwork being completed.

• Ensure that all incident logs for allocated pupils are checked and signed off.

Behavioural Input:

Ensure that behaviour support plans (where appropriate for each child) are in place and kept up to date.

• Direct staff in implementation of agreed behavioural strategy and data collection.

• Ensure that behaviour data is collected as agreed and provide charts and graphs as required.

• Analyse relevant data and provide evidence based direction.

Design evidence based behavioural interventions.

Provide leadership in crisis management incidents for allocated pupils, and provide support for all others.

• Produce behavioural assessments twice a year.

• Complete any additional behaviour related documentation as required.

Work directly with pupils who may display behaviours that challenge as well as partake in intimate care where needed.

Whole School Planning:

• Ensure daily rotas for teaching and for break and lunch duties are completed.

Contribute to decisions on new class groupings for pupils.

• Contribute to decisions on new staff teams for each class, per term or as new pupils / staff join.

• Plan which group lessons / curriculum access / external accreditation is suitable for each class group.

• Plan which offsite activities are appropriate for each class each term.

• Oversee / delegate risk assessments for each offsite activity.

• Participate in the delivery of School Development objectives

• Attend termly SIP visits or Trustees monitoring visits, and provide reports / data as required

Staff Management & Development / Training:

Ensure excellent training is provided to new staff in implementing ABA teaching and behavioural input.

Provide guidance and support to staff in 1:1 work with pupils and in their individual responsibilities.

• Conduct formal staff appraisals for specified staff as per agreed schedule, providing appropriate feedback.

Ensure formal and informal staff appraisals for all staff are implemented according to agreed schedule.

Conduct and oversee PIPs when needed

Provide direct line management to specified Senior Tutors including regular mentoring and Supervision meetings, as per schedule.

• Oversee Senior Tutors and ensure they are fulfilling their responsibilities to pupils and staff in their teams.

• Contribute to the design and delivery of high quality ABA theory training for all teaching staff as required.

Complete performance management meetings for allocated staff members, at the required frequency.

Parental Needs:

Ensure parents are provided with agreed regular information (Tapestry observations/memos).

• Contribute to writing of annual pupil reports and collate reports, ready to be sent to parents.

Discuss pupil progress with parents as required.

Prepare paperwork for Annual Reviews (AR) and attend AR meetings for allocated pupils.

Conduct scheduled parent meetings for allocated pupils.

Ensure parents’ wishes with regard to high priority target areas are addressed and ensure parents are kept informed of any areas of concern.

Ensure all issues raised by parents are acknowledged, recorded and resolved as quickly as possible. Implement issue log as required.

• Ensure pupil timetables are shared with parents when changes are made.
