As we continue to evolve, we are looking for a professional, calm, and proactive Bank Security Officer to join our team.
St Andrew's Birmingham is a 125 bedded adult mental healthcare facility comprises of eight units that cover medium and low security for both Men and Women. Located in Stirchley, a vibrant area in South Birmingham, easily accessible by road networks and public transport.
Bank Security Liaison Officer
This role is vital in maintaining a safe and secure environment while supporting patients, staff, and visitors.
You will act as a key point of contact between security services, clinical teams. Escorting visotis and contractors around the site inclusing ward enviroments . Working in this environment requires strong communications skills, emotional awareness and the ability to manage situations with patience and respect, ensuring clear coordinated approach to safety.
Key Responsibilities: -
- Maintain a visible security presence across the site
- Monitor and respond to incidents, ensuring safety procedures are followed
- Support staff in managing challenging situations, using de-escalation where appropriate
- Communicate clearly with patients, staff and visitors
- Conduct regular patrols and security checks
- Escorting visitors and contractors around the site
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and security policies
Requirements: -
- Previous experience in security, healthcare or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Good understanding of safety, confidentiality, and professional boundaries
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Respectful, patient, non-judgemental and empathic approach when working in a mental health environment
