Job Description

Join the B:and Together Team

B:Music is seeking exceptional music educators to join our Gospel and Jazz Ensembles for the 2026/27 academic year.

We are recruiting for both Lead Tutor and Support Tutor positions through an open application process, in line with our wider programme recruitment procedures.

Our Gospel and Jazz Ensembles provide young musicians with opportunities to develop their skills, build confidence and perform as part of ambitious, high-quality ensembles. We are looking for tutors who can inspire, challenge and support participants throughout the year.

We welcome applications from experienced practitioners who are committed to delivering outstanding musical experiences and supporting the next generation of performers.

If you have any questions about the recruitment process, please get in touch with the team - talentdevelopment@bmusic.co.uk

We look forward to receiving your application.

Returning Tutors

If you have previously worked with B:Music, you do not need to submit a CV or covering letter.

Instead, complete the Expression of Interest JotForm, indicating whether you wish to be considered for a Lead Tutor role, a Support Tutor role, or both.

Following submission of the JotForm, shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview.

Availability and Session Allocation

As part of the application process, tutors will be asked to indicate all ensemble dates they are available to deliver across the academic year.

Applicants should:

  • Provide all dates they are available to work
  • Keep those dates free in their diary until the recruitment process is complete

Following interviews and final shortlisting, successful applicants will receive confirmation of the specific sessions they have been allocated by Wednesday 15 July at the latest. At that stage, any dates not allocated can be released from personal diaries.

This approach has been designed to create greater clarity and consistency for tutors, while strengthening our ability to secure staffing across the programme.

Please note that Support Tutor allocations may be less consistent throughout the year than Lead Tutor allocations, as Support Tutor requirements are often determined by ensemble needs, student numbers and session-specific requirements.

Commitment to the Programme & Dates

To provide continuity and stability for participants, we ask that tutors only apply if they are able to commit to the dates they make available and intend to fulfil any sessions allocated to them

Gospel: 12:45pm - 3pm

Jazz: 3:15pm - 5:30pm
