We’re looking for an Atlantic 85 MK4 Trainer to join our Training Team to manage the design, delivery, assessment and review of the training implementation of Atlantic 85 Mk4 lifeboat in scope of the project, considering trainers, operational staff (inc technical) and volunteers. Update any policies, procedures and competencies affected by the change and provide support to the project team as Training Subject Matter Expert.

Your role
As an Atlantic 85 MK4 Trainer, you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:
- Lead the end-to-end development of training, assessments, skills and knowledge required to support the roll out of the Atlantic 85 MK4.
- Translate operational requirements of the Atlantic 85 MK4 into engaging and effective learning for operational lifeboat crews and staff.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships with Manufacturers, Operations and Engineering departments and volunteers.
- Monitor training effectiveness, using feedback and performance data to refine content and delivery methods.
- Liaise with regional Management teams to plan and co-ordinate the roll out of Atlantic 85 MK4 to the coast, and delivery training where required.
About you
We are seeking an experienced design practitioner with exceptional training delivery skills. Ideally experienced in designing and delivering training in electronic maritime systems, you’ll have a passion for devising engaging training materials and an instinct for understanding what works best for learners. As an excellent communicator, you will effectively manage the requirements of multiple stakeholder groups to deliver against agreed learner outcomes. Dedicated to developing others’ abilities to operate safely in challenging conditions, you will enjoy working in different environments and coaching and training people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
To be considered as the Atlantic 85 Mk4 Trainer you will need to have:
- A recognised teaching or practical training qualification within a powerboating, motor cruising, or sea survival environment.
- Be a Passed-out Atlantic 85 helm with a current Seagoing Medical
- Proven track record in designing and delivering innovative and engaging learning interventions
- Extensive experience of training and assessment, ideally in a maritime environment
- Experience in coaching, influencing and mentoring
The role will be mainly based in Poole at the early stages of the project the successful candidate will need to be prepared to work and travel within this area. However frequent and extensive travel across the Uk and Ireland is expected to be a key component of this role.
