Role: Athlete Lifestyle & Performance Coordinator.

Grade and Salary: Grade 5 (£26,707 - £31,236) per annum.

FTE and working pattern: 1 FTE (full time- 35 hours per week) open-ended.

Holiday Entitlement: 28 days annual leave plus 9 buildings-closed days

Purpose of Role

To provide vital coordination and administration for the Sports Scholarship Programme and the wider Sport Performance team, maintaining high standards at all times to contribute to a high performance environment within the department.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Coordinate bookings and contracts for services provided by the performance department.

• Manage scholarship and recruitment and onboarding processes by working with coaching staff as well as the University recruitment and admissions team. Promote scholarship programmes at University open days and offer holder days and support with Oriam input.

• Working in conjunction with the Sports Union, manage the sport administration of scholarship teams including booking facilities, transport, trip compliance plus competition entries for sport scholars.

• Administer programme budget by completing all finance administration tasks including student expenses and tracking expenditure, working with Oriam Admin Services.

• Support athletes with academic flexibility requests.

• General support to the student athletes in our care on the scholarship programme, seeking support from relevant people wherever required.

• Working collaboratively with marketing & communication colleagues in Oriam, Heriot-Watt and Sports Union, ensuring that both the scholarship programme and department services are well promoted.

Essential & Desirable Criteria

Essential

• At least 3 years' experience of coordinating/ administering sport programmes.

• Extremely competent in the use of relevant IT packages.

• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

• Demonstrable professional and proactive approach.

• Ability to develop relationships with a range of stakeholders.

• Demonstrable ability to work quickly, flexibly and accurately in a dynamic, changing and pressured environment.

• Demonstrable provision of excellent customer service.

Desirable

• Experience of working with coaches and athletes within a similar performance environment as outlined above.
