Are you an experienced spiritual director with a gift for teaching, attentive listening and accompanying others in their vocational and spiritual formation?

The Bristol Diocese is seeking an Associate Tutor to help deliver Sanctum, a one-year ecumenical pathway for those exploring a call to the ministry of spiritual direction.

Working alongside the Diocesan Adviser for Spiritual Direction, you will share in teaching, tutor group leadership, student support, assignment marking and student admissions.
This is a role for someone who can offer theological and engaging teaching, while also holding a reflective, prayerful and pastorally grounded learning space; contributing to the ongoing development of a creative and accessible course.

The commitment includes 23 sessions across the academic year, combining Thursday evening online teaching with three Saturday in-person days, plus preparation, marking, planning and admissions work.

We would love to hear from candidates who bring experience in spiritual direction, adult formation or group facilitation, and who share the Diocesan values of openness, generosity, creativity and bravery, alongside a humility and respect for diversity within a Christian contemplative framework.

We Also Offer

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays pro-rata for part-time
  • A contributory pension scheme and life assurance.
  • Company sick pay.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • A warm, supportive and values-led team environment.
