Self-employed Associate CYP Counsellor - Job pack
We are excited to announce we are growing our therapies offer and are now looking for self‑employed counsellors to support children and young people (aged 10–18) across Lancashire.
Role title: Associate Children & Young People Counsellor (Self‑employed)
Hours: Approx. 5 hours per week
Contract: Self-employed
Application deadline: 29th June 2026
Interview date: 7th July 2026
This is a flexible associate role delivering 1:1 therapy sessions, mainly online, helping young people access support quickly without long waiting lists.
The role

Deliver one‑to‑one counselling sessions for young people

Work flexibly (around 5 hours per week, by agreement)

Provide safe, high‑quality, trauma‑informed support

Keep clear client notes and follow safeguarding procedures
You’ll be part of a growing service focused on accessible, personalised mental health support for young people across Lancashire.
What we're looking for

Qualified counsellor (BACP accredited or equivalent)

Experience working with children and young people

Already set up as self‑employed (incl. insurance, supervision)

Someone who can build trust, work independently, and communicate well
