Job role
We are looking for an experienced person to join our committed and dedicated team, supporting autistic
people with additional learning disabilities and a range of mental health and co-morbidity issues, to live full
and meaningful lives geared to their own preference, in their beautiful home in Sunderland.
Expressions of interest are invited from experienced colleagues who are ready to make a progressive step
within ESPA Residential Services, or existing Assistant Managers who are looking for professional
development into a different environment

We are looking to recruit someone who has the following skills, experience and qualities:

▪ Is enthusiastic, self motivated, reliable, flexible and can use their own initiative in a range of different
situations.

Courage, and Commitment.
▪ Has experience and knowledge of management systems and procedures.
▪ Ability to work closely with No.8 Cedars’ Manager and senior team to ensure all management systems,
documentation, audits, Quality Assurance, P&P and legislation are adhered to.
▪ Has good time management skills and is able to prioritise work to meet deadlines.
▪ Understand the principles of Positive Behaviour Support and have experience of working with
multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement support plans which focus on enhancing quality of
life.
▪ Value teamwork and be able to work with colleagues at all levels in an open, cohesive and inclusive
way, as well as being able to work independently.
▪ Communicate effectively with families, advocates, external agencies, and other professionals to
ensure positive outcomes.
▪ Have a good understanding of the function of CQC and other relevant legislation such as DoLS
including how they influence the quality of life for people using our service.
▪ Ability and confidence in motivating and managing staff, including role modelling, conducting
supervisions, appraisals & managing conflict resolution.
▪ Good working knowledge of ESPA’s IT systems, including Sharepoint and Microsoft.
▪ Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
▪ Be flexible when considering shift patterns which will include on call duties, evening & weekend shifts
and Bank Holidays.
