Britten Pears Arts (BPA) is a pioneering Music & Arts based charity, situated on the beautiful Suffolk coast, working across a wide range of activities. Music-related charitable work includes Artist Development, a year-round Performance Programme, Music in the Community and Creative Health and our Living Heritage Museum and Archive at The Red House.
At Snape Maltings, our significant commercial activity includes Retail, Hospitality, Galleries and Property – including holiday lets and accommodation for visiting artists. All commercial profits are used to support the BPA charity. We employ more than 150 permanent colleagues, many of whom work flexibly, together with significant numbers of seasonal staff and freelancers.

About the role
The Assistant Producer: Pathways. Children, Families & Young People is a key operational role responsible for supporting the planning, administration and delivery of CFYP Pathways programmes, including strands such as Advanced Young Musicians and Friday Afternoons. Working closely with the Programme Manager: Pathways and the wider team, the role ensures high-quality, inclusive experiences for young people, artists and partners through effective coordination of schedules, participant administration, artist contracting and on-the-ground delivery support. The postholder acts as a main point of contact for participants and families, liaises with Music, Finance and Production teams, manages Workshop Assistants, and ensures compliance with safeguarding, DBS and attendance requirements. Practical and people-focused, the role combines strong organisational skills with a commitment to inclusive music education and supporting young people’s progression within the wider music education landscape.
The role is based at Snape Maltings but some travel and support to other locations within Suffolk will also be required.
In particular we are looking for:
- Experience working in music education, arts participation or youth-focused settings
- Confidence working directly with children and young people in structured learning or creative environments
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including scheduling, data management and coordination
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with participants, families, artists and colleagues
- A trained musical background, with the ability to read musical notation and a genuine passion for talent development
- An understanding of the music education landscape and progression pathways for young people
- A proactive, practical and flexible approach, thriving in busy live delivery environments
- A strong commitment to inclusive, safe and high-quality experiences for all participants
Permanent Full Time (We could consider 0.8FTE)
Salary: £25,000 - £26,000
